Hobart : Darren Bravo produced a spirited performance to lift West Indies from a precarious position to a respectable 207 for six at stumps on day two of the first Test against Australia in Hobart on Friday.

Replying to Australia’s 583 for four declared, West Indies endured a shaky start and were reeling at 116-6 before Bravo (94) found an able ally in Kemar Roach (31) as the duo went on to construct an unbroken 91-run partnership for the seventh wicket.

Off-spinner Nathan Lyon was the West Indies’ chief tormentor by claiming three wickets and received able support from pace man Josh Hazlewood, who took two wickets.

Earlier, Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh set a new record for the fourth wicket by making a 449-run stand. Marsh was dismissed for 182, while Voges remained unbeaten on 269.
