Western Railway has always been committed to making all its railway establishments and units scrap-free under the “Mission Zero Scrap”. Continuing with consistent efforts, Western Railway has crossed the big figure of Rs. 100 crore by scrap sale.
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, going ahead in the direction toward the “Zero Scrap Mission”, Western Railway has sold scrap worth more than Rs. 100 Cr, which is 105% more than the corresponding figure of last year of Rs. 47.89 Cr. This has helped in the monetization of blocked funds and consequent revenue generation. In 2021-22 also Western Railway sold scrap worth Rs. 513.46 Cr.
