Due to the efforts made in the direction of beautification of the beaches under the able guidance and leadership of Administrator Praful Patel, Diu's Ghoghla Beach was also received Prestigious "Blue Flag" certification for the next season.
Blue Flag International Jury has also presented the Blue Flag Award to Ghoghla Beach for the season commencing from October-2021 to May-2022. The award was presented by the International Jury in its meeting held on 14 September 2021.
It is worth noting that Diu's Ghoghla Beach had already been awarded the prestigious 'Blue-Flag Certification' by the Danish Foundation of Environment Education. Blue-Flag is the world's most prestigious eco-label award. The jury evaluates the Blue Flag certification each year and for its commitment to maintaining and adhering to all the set criteria for the Blue Flag, the jury awards the Blue-Flag certification each year.
Ghoghla Beach has facilities such as public toilets, changing and shower rooms, watch towers, mechanized pollution abatement services, beach safety facilities as per the international certification by the administration. The road access to the beach, tree plantation, parking, illumination works have also been done by the administration. After evaluating these facilities, the jury also awarded the Blue Flag Award to Ghoghla Beach for the October-2021 to May-2022 season.
