Western Railway successfully dismantles south foot over bridge at Vile Parle station

Western Railway has successfully undertaken various infrastructural works, under the nationwide lockdown during the Coronavirus Pandemic, with the limited workforce. In last few months, the Western Railway has completed many construction works of Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) & Skywalks and have also undertaken repair works of several Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and FOBs, making the best use of the lockdown situation. Continuing in this series, the three spans of the South FOB at Vile Parle were delaunched at the site in two consecutive Traffic Blocks of 4-hours each on the nights of 12th & 13th October, 2020. According to Sumit Thakur - Cheif Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in lieu of the old FOB dismantled at Vile Parle, a new 6 metre wide FOB has already been opened for the use of commuters. In fact, the width of the new FOB is more than that of the old FOB, so that it will cater more number of public and also help in avoiding the crowd during the peak hours.
