Bhayandar : In a horrifying incident, a 21-year-old youth brutally murdered his elder brother at their apartment in Bhayandar and in a desperate attempt to conceal his crime, chopped the body into four parts. However, the accused who has been identified as Simon Raphael Patrao (21) changed his mind and walked to Navghar police station and confessed to having stabbed his elder brother-Wilfred (36) to death with a knife at around 4 am on Saturday.

The deceased was employed as a guard with a private security agency in Borivali. According to the police the gruesome murder which was reported from the fourth floor apartment of Jai Pandurang Building in the Kashi Nagar area of Bhayandar (East) was said to be the fallout of a dispute over Rs 20,000.

Changes his mind later, walks to the Police Station and confesses his crime

After the sensational revelation by the accused, a police team immediately reached the crime spot and recovered the dismembered body parts which were stuffed into plastic bags and dumped in the bathroom and bedroom of the apartment. “It appears that the accused had withdrawn Rs 20,000 by using his elder brother’s (deceased) debit card a couple of months back. This apparently became the reason of conflict between the siblings and culminated in murder. Simon has been arrested and booked under Section 302 and 201 of the IPC,” confirmed Senior Police Inspector Ram Bhalsingh.

Simon earlier worked in a call centre but was jobless for the past several months. While both the deceased and accused stayed alone in the apartment after the demise of their parents last year, their two elder brothers aged 38 and 40 live in Dubai and Mumbai respectively.
