Ujjain: A two-day divisional youth festival under the aegis of Vikram University, took off to a grand start on the University campus on Friday. Several cultural programmes and competitions organised on the first day of the festival, saw enthusiastic students participating in large numbers.

Preparations for the festival had got underway some time back, with organisers completing it well before hand. The inauguration ceremony was conducted at the golden jubilee hall of the university.

 Chief guest of the festival and vice chancellor of Panini Sanskrit and Vaidik university, RC Panda, in his inaugural speech called on the youth to lead a value based life.

Vice chancellor of Vikram University, professor Sheel Sindhu Pandey in his address to students said it was only through hard work and effort that one could achieve specific aims in life and hence emerge winner.

 Special guests at the inaugural programme were regional additional director, higher education, Dr Usha Shrivastava and executive committee member of the university, Harnam Singh Yadav. The welcome speech was delivered by head of the Youth Festival committee, professor VH Badshah. The vote of thanks was delivered by prof Rakesh Dandh.
