World Heart Day: Wockhardt distributes 5,000 stress balls to corporate staffers, police officials

MUMBAI: There have been studies that draw an association between stress levels and increased rates of heart attacks over the last 15 years. On the note of World Heart Day, to create awareness about the increase in heart diseases due to stress & high blood pressure, Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central has distributed “Stress Ball” to more than 5000 employees at private firm and Police officials.

A heart attack is the leading cause of death due to lifestyle, stress, long working hours and lack of exercise. From last few years it has noted that youngsters are facing heart problem at an early age. A police official has long working hours, eating outside junk food, etc. all such factors are major issue that can leads to heart problems. Even Employees at corporate firm has a big target to achieve. It has noticed that youngster put lot of efforts to achieve those target. It has become a myth to reduce stress smoking is best way to get rid of it… smoking does not relieve stress. With long working hours, lack of exercise and stress affects their health too. Dr Parag Rindani, Head Hospital Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central says, “With this campaign we urge to police officials and corporate employees a promise as an individual to get more active, say no to smoking, eat healthier, have a regular exercise and also be stress free.”
