With Akshay Kumar’s Special 26 in Bollywood, here’re 10 not to miss movies

Akshay Kumar is a true khiladi of Bollywood, who switches characters at the drop of a hat. Be it playing a patriotic army officer, a tough action star, romantic hero or a comedian, he nails it all. When it comes to playing a hero, he kills them either with bullets or with his dialogues. And talking about the stunts, he can give a run to the youngsters. It may come as a shock to you but the khiladi has completed 26 years in Bollywood and to compliment him we have compiled a list of 10 must watch movies of Akshay Kumar.

Hera Pheri

Hera Pheri is Bollywood’s one of the best comedy movie directed by Priyadarshan that features Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Tabu. The film revolves around two tenants (Akshay and Suniel) and a landlord (Paresh Rawal). The trio are in urgent need of money and hence chances upon a ransom call which gets connected through a cross connection. The three hatches a plan to claim some part of ransom, but destiny has different plans for them.


The action spy thriller with Akshay in a lead gives us some serious patriotic goals. Akshay plays the role of an Indian spy who is ready to sacrifice everything for his country. He is part of an elite team of the Indian intelligence system that struggles to eliminate terrorists. One such operation is led by Akshay that destroys a deadly operation by terrorists.

Special 26

The crime thriller is inspired by real life incident and admit it no other actor can do justice to the role. A team of cons pose as CBI officers and carry out raids at politicians and businessmen’s house and offices to sack their black money. The climax of the movie keeps you on the edge of your seat when the actual CBI gets on a mission to hunt them.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa

The psychological comedy horror film features Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Ameesha Patel and Shiney Ahuja. The film revolves around NRI (Shiney) and his wife (Vidya) who on a family get-together decides to reside in their ancestral home. Soon with mysterious incidents the family decides to call a psychiatrist (Akshay) who helps them to get rid of all the mysteries.


Akshay was awarded with the best villain for this suspense thriller. The movie is an adaptation of a Hollywood movie ‘Consenting Adults’. The film features Akshay, Bobby Deol, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu in lead roles.


The romantic musical film revolves around the lives two friends Raj (Akshay) and Kajal (Lara Dutta). Both passionate about planes, Raj after he grows up joins Air force only to come back and propose Kajal for marriage. But when he comes back Kajal confesses that she found her love in someone else. Later, Raj falls in love with Jiya (Priyanka Chopra) but learns that she is now-widowed Kajal’s sister-in-law.

Gabbar is Back

The vigilante action drama features Akshay in lead role. Akshay’s character (Aditya/Gabbar Singh Rajput) forms his own military network called the Anti-Corruption Force (ACF) with an aim to get rid of corrupt individuals. He creates the force after he loses his wife and unborn child because of an influential builder. Later, the team exposes the corrupt builder.

Khatta Meetha

The comedy drama revolves around the life of Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar’s character) who is a struggling road constructor. Tichkule is a dreamer who aims to become a successful constructor but his dreams comes to a halt as he is unable to bribe the bureaucracy for passing the tender. Later, his family loses faith in him. To make his life more miserable, Gehna Ganpule (Trisha Krishnan), his ex-girlfriend, who is now a Municipal Commissioner and hates him, enters his life.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

The romantic comedy drama revolves around Sunny (Akshay), Sameer (Salman Khan) and Rani (Priyanka Chopra). Sameer after his heartbreak shifts to Goa and falls in love with Rani. But she hates him as he had slapped her father by mistake. To make the issue worse, his room-mate Sunny, a playboy has hots for Rani. This battle of love between Sameer and Sunny takes an unexpected turn at the end.


The suspense thriller directed by Abbas Mastan features Akshay (Raj), Deepak Tijori (Boney), Ayesha Jhulka (Neelam) and Sabeeha (Sheetal) in lead roles. The four friends decide to play a prank by kidnapping Sheetal and asking her father for ransom. The prank turns into an unfortunate incident when she gets murdered and the blame goes on the three friends.
The film is also Akshay’s first movie with titled Khiladi which is followed by Sabse Bada Khiladi, Khiladiyon ka Khiladi, Main Khiladi to Anari, Mr and Mrs Khiladi, International Khiladi, Khiladi 420 and Khiladi 786.
