The opening Test of between England and India at Edgbaston is currently underway with first few overs were intense. England captain Joe Root won the toss and without any hesitation decided to bat first. However, for the visitors the start turned out to be quite tricky as players looked nervous and one of them was Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane was fielding at the slip cordon and failed in his first attempt as he dropped the catch, much to disappointment of the Indian side.

Rahane who is one of the most trusted fielders in the slip dropped opener Keaton Jennings on 9 at that time. Root and Jennings managed to take side 83/1 after Cook returned to pavilion cheaply for 13. It could have been much better for India had they taken that catch. Watch the catch below:

In the 1st Test, for India, Ashwin has surprisingly been the only bowler who has looked like taking wickets. Kuldeep Yadav who was cited to be an X-factor for Indian side in the Test series wasn’t picked in the XI. The three main pacers were Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami. The pace bowling all-rounder is Hardik Pandya.
