Where is my vote: Badminton star Jwala Gutta surprised after her name disappears from voters’ list

It seems like Indian Badminton star Jwala Gutta will not be able to cast her vote in the ongoing Telangana elections 2018 as her name has disappeared from voters’ list. Gutta informed about the incident on social media saying that she could not find her name in the voting list of Telangana.

“Surprised to see my name disappear from the voting list after checking online!! #whereismyvote,” she wrote on her Twitter account on Friday morning. Expressing her anger over the same, she also said that disappearing of names from voters’ list puts a question on fair play of elections. “How’s the election fair…when names r mysteriously disappearing from the list”, she wrote.

While talking to ANI, Gutta informed that her name was there in the voters few weeks ago. “I checked my name online 2-3 weeks ago, my mother’s & my names were there, my father’s & my sister’s were missing. Today we went to cast vote but my name was also missing. I don’t understand how’s my name missing. I’ve been living here for 12 yrs”, Gutta told ANI.

Today, assembly elections are being held in the Indian state of Telangana and Rajasthan. The results will be out on December 7, 2018. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Jwala casted her vote and also motivated others to take part in elections. “Come on guys vote for better future”, she had written on her Twitter account.
