Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri speaks about how reading has given him a direction in life
Philosophy & politics
I don’t read fiction at all. I read primarily books on science (quantum physics) and a lot of philosophy and politics. Aurobindo, Vivekananda, Jiddu Krishnamurti and Robert Pirsig’s works have given me direction and meaning of life.
I read three-four books in a month. I try to get my fill of reading while flying and before sleeping.
No where in particular. I browse quite a bit and people whose life and views interest me, incidentally they are authors too or much has been written about them. Each one is an ocean so there is no end to this deep dive even if I’m to cover one of them.
Ebook versus physical book
I just can’t read a book if it doesn’t smell of fresh paper and ink.
I am currently reading…
Savitri by Sri Aurobindo.
