Ujjain: Woman robbed off valuables, cash at knifepoint on train

Ujjain: A woman was reportedly robbed off cash and valuables at knifepoint by an unidentified miscreant on a moving train near Ujjain in the wee hours of Friday.

According to information, Nidhi, wife of Prakash Deshpande, boarded Indore Rewa Express from Dewas station around 5 am and slightly after that another passenger came in who finding Nidhi alone in the compartment robbed her off  Rs 3500 cash, earrings and other valuables at knifepoint.

Adding woes to it, the miscreant kept on threatening her till near Ujjain station before he fled as the train slowed down while approaching the platform. The victim lodged a report with GRP Ujjain following which police registered a case in the incident and based on the descriptions narrated by Nidhi, made a sketch of the accused to identify him.

Chain snatched

In another incident a miscreant snatched a chain from a woman at 11.30 am on Friday. According to information, Saroj (60), wife of Rajendra Jain, resident of Jinendra Vihar Colony was on her way home from Jain Temple when a miscreant snatched away a chain from her neck. Saroj lodged a report in the incident in Madhav Nagar police station, which registered a case under Section 393 of IPC.
