The Ujjain police have registered an FIR against MP Chintamani Malviya and his supporters on the basis of a viral video in which he is seen hurling abuses and threatening cops deployed at Shri Mahakaleshwar temple in a bid to ensure entry of his supporters. According to reports, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid obeisance to the presiding deity on Friday, when the BJP MP arrived on the scene along with his supporters.
/Malviya forcibly removes barricades/
Malviya tried to enter the temple. However, he was stopped by the cops deployed for the security of the chief minister. The MP immediately lost cool and started hurling abuses. He physically pushed away the cops and even removed barricades put up for CM’s security in a bid to ensure entry into the premises along with his supporters. Soon the video of MP’s misbehaviour with the cops went viral resulting in all round condemnation.
Even his party members criticised his behaviour. Taking the matter seriously, police administration registered an FIR against Malviya and his supporters under sections 294, 353, 147, 149, 186, 188, 189 and 504 of the IPC and Section 37 (e) and (f) of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple Act 1982, on the basis of statements of sub-inspector Manohar Patel along with constables Anil, Nitesh, Siddharth and others. The cops said that devotees and others present at the scene were surprised at MP Malviya’s behaviour.
