Ujjain: Thieves broke into isolated houses in the city on Monday night and made away with cash and other valuables. In the first incident, a robbery took place at an isolated house in Kamal Colony when Rs. 50 thousand and jewelry worth lakhs was stolen on Monday night.

According to Chimanganj police, the thieves broke into the house of Kartarsingh Gehlot, a resident of Kamal colony and stole from the almirah.  The police registered an FIR under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC on the basis of a statement of the victim and initiated the investigation.

In a separate incident, thieves broke the lock of a house of a readymade garments businessman Anupkumar Jain, in Keshav Nagar and made away with Rs 20000, a diamond necklace and other valuable jewellery. The police registered an FIR under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC on the basis of statements given by neighbours as Jain was abroad with his family.

Likewise some miscreants stole a refrigerator and a cooler from the residence of Kamalsingh near Verma ka kua area on Maksi Road. Madhav Nagar police registered the case after taking the statement of Kamalsingh.
