Ujjain: Sindhi community takes ‘path-breaking’ decisions over weddings

Ujjain: Local Sindhi community has banned video and photo shoots of pre-wedding, which boys and girls make before their marriages on outer locations and display during the reception programmes. The community will impose penalties on both the parties if they found violating the ban.

A decision to this effect was taken during the annual general meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Ladhi Lohana Sindhi Panchayat, organised at Swami Lilashah Dham Sindhi Dharmsala Geeta Colony, on Sunday. Panchayat president Mohanlal Vaswani presided over the meeting. A large number of women were present in the meeting and every attendee passed the resolutions amid consensus.

Vice-president Deepak Rajwani said in the meeting other decisions were also taken which included organising ‘Uthawana’ at 9.30 am. It was decided that to keep business establishments closed on Sundays so that people can devote more time to their families to build good atmosphere and mutual understanding.
