Ujjain: One of the eight suspected SIMI terrorists killed in the encounter on Monday after absconding from Bhopal Central jail, belonged to Mehidpur. The terrorists also murdered a security guard in the jail while absconding.
According to information, the suspected terrorist Abdul Mazid, a resident of Nagori Mohalla, Mehidpur, was an electrician and an expert at making bombs. He was also involved in the 2014 bomb blast in Sholapur, Maharashtra.
His body was brought back from Bhopal to Mehidpur by his family. The police and administration had taken all measures to maintain law and order in Mehidpur town, which has remained sensitive since the episode.
