Ujjain: Several cultural programmes will be organized on Republic day in the city. ‘Loktantra Ka Lokotsav Bharat Parv’ will be presented by the Swaraj Sansthan Sanchnalaya and cultural department of the Madhya Pradesh. The same programme will be organised at all the districts in the State. The programme has been being organised for the past 10 years in the state.
Principal secretary Manoj Shrivastava informed that 101 groups with more than 1500 artists will present folk music, dance, patriotic songs, Suraj Gayan, Kabeer Gayan and tribal arts. He stated that Bharat Parv was a very unique programme and 750 tribal artistes would participate and perform 50 folk dances and 18 patriotic songs. The programme ‘Bharat Parva’ will be organised on the eve of Republic Day at Pt Sunryanarayan Hall of Kalidas Academy. Shailendra Sharma with a team of 5 artists from Bhopal will present patriotic songs. On the same day artist Nupur Dube with her group will present a folk dance. The divisional public relation office will hold an exhibition based on the beneficiary schemes of State Government on the same day.
The parade was given final touch on Wednesday and will be held on the Republic day at Dussehra Maidan. During the rehearsal SDM Kshitij Sharma and additional police superintendent, Neeraj Pande inspected the parade as chief guests. Police superintendent Sachin Atulkar and other administrative officials were also present. The main Republic day function will be held at Dussehra Maidan. Collector Sanket Bhondve reviewed and finalized the programme and finalized. The collector instructed that beneficiary schemes of the government will be exhibited.
During the review meeting of the main programme additional collector Basant Kurre and ADM GS Dabar were present with concerned officials. The collector called for arrangements of national flags in various buildings of Government departments, as well for the main programme on Republic Day. Stage decoration and sound system will be arranged by the horticulture department and Ujjain Development Authority, respectively. Open jeep, balloons and sweets distribution will also be arranged by the different Government departments.
On Republic day, a programme ‘Jai Ujjain’ will be held in which the people of the city will move in the city to understand and air their views on how the city had changed. Chetan Yadav a member of organizing committee stated that through this campaign, people will start inspection of the city from Tower Chowk with patriotic songs.
Additional police superintendent Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan launched strict checking ahead of Republic day at new colonies, railway station, bus-stand, hotels, restaurants, dhabas, lodge, guest houses, Jamatkhanas and all the suspicious and sensitive areas of the city with a team of police and BDDS.
