Ujjain: One killed, another injured after vehicles collide

Ujjain: One person died on the spot while another person sustained severe injuries during a head-on collision between a car and bus near Mullapura bypass on Monday morning.

Eye witnesses said both vehicles were speeding and after the collision, the car barged into an open field, while the bus flung itself sideways in front of the car. The bus carrying passengers dashed the car violently and consequently the driver of the car was killed, while his friend received serious injuries. Passengers of the bus managed to come out safely from the bus, while the body of the car driver got stuck inside the vehicle.

The body of the deceased youth was taken out in the presence of the Mahakal police authorities, and the bus was lifted with the help of a crane. The youth killed was identified as Rahul Solanki (20), resident of Ingoriya, while his friend Shubhamsingh Rajput, resident of Goutampura, who received serious injuries was sent to the civil hospital. Dharmedra Solanki, brother of the deceased said both friends worked at Treasure Bazaar. Mahakal police authorities registered the case and have started a search of driver and conductor of the bus, who fled from spot just after the accident.
