Ujjain: ODF survey: Ujjain secures second rank

Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation office premises witnessed festive atmosphere as the news that city was declared second in the nationwide survey for Open Defecation Free (ODF) status trickled in.The celebration programme was organised at Grand Hotel in which UMC employees and sanitation workers congratulated each other and distributed sweets. Mayor Meena Jonwal attributed the success in achieving the second rank to municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal, corporators and employees of the civic body and congratulated to everyone.

Commissioner Pal told termed the achievement as a big success towards up-gradation in rank in cleanliness survey and congratulated every employee of the civic body saying ‘We will continue our efforts to obtain first rank in cleanliness survey.’ She added that the claim of the city has been stronger with this success and the city is leading with 250 points.
The certificates of ODF were received by the civic bodies of Indore and Ujjain, Pal said. We were facing big challenges in the contest but with modernisation of toilets and converting them into excellent toilets with ample facilities, made this contest favourable for us. Mayor Meena Jonwal, Pratibha Pal and in-charge health department of civic body Mangilal Kadel congratulated the denizens also.
