Ujjain: As the holy month of shravan draws close, the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) has started preparations for holding traditional sawaris of Lord Mahakal. The MTMC also issued schedules of sawaris to be taken out in the month of shravan and bhadav according to the Hindu calendar.
During these months, a total of six sawaris will be held on July 30, August 6, August 13, August 20, August 27 and September 3 from the premises of Mahakaleshwar Temple in the evening at 4pm. The pathway of the sawaris will be managed by troops of horse riding police force, home guards and special armed forces. MTMC administrator Abhishek Dubey said SP Sachin Atulkar had been informed in this respect.
The Official route of all the sawaris has been finalized by the MTMC. Thesawari will start from Mahakaleshwar Temple and l arrive at Ramghat via Mahakal Road, GudariChouraha, Bakshi Bazaar and Kaharwadi and return back to the temple via Ramanujkot, ModhKi Dharmashala, Kartik Chowk, KhatiKaMandir, Dhaba Road, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patani Bazaar and Gudari Bazaar.
The MTMC affirmed that the route of the ShahiSawari to reach Ramghat will be the same, but the return route of the sawari will be slightly changed. On returning to the temple, the ShahiSawari will go through Ramanujkot, Kartik Chowk, KhatiKaMandir, Dhaba Road, TankiChouraha, Mirza NaiemMag marg, Teliwada, Kanthal, Satigate, Sarafa, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patani Bazaar and GudariChouraha.
MTMC to make special arrangements for Nagpanchami festival
MTMC officials said on the occasion of Nagpachami, which will fall on August 15, special arrangements will be made for the ease of the devotees to view Nagchandreshwar temple.
Timings of opening of temple changed
MTMC administrator informed that timings of opening the temple gates will be changed from July 28. According to the new timings, the temple doors will be opened at 3am, and on Monday,the temple will open at 2.30 am.
Artists selected for Shrawan Mahotsava
The administration selected and invited the artists for traditional ‘ShrawanManotsava’. Like every year under ShrawanMahotsava, noted artists will perform in the Mahakaleshwar temple premises every Sunday. According to the schedule on July 29, Yogesh Shakari will play shehnai and Padmshri Swami Bharti Bandhu will present classical singing.
On August 5, Bharatnatyam will be presented by Shriti Rajeev Sharma and Niladrikumar will present Sitar rendition. Sharad Dandge will play Tabala on August 12 ,which will be followed by classical singing by Vandana Mishra and Kathak by Shinjani Kulkarni. Likewise, on August 19 Mahesh Malik will play violin and Agrawal Bandhu and SadhanaRahatgaonkar will present singing.
Palak Patwardhan will present Kathak which will be followed by classical singing of AnindoChatarji and AnuwratChatarjee. The ‘mahotsava’ will end with Veena rendition of Satish Khanwilkar and Dhurpad singing of Pallawdas.
