Ujjain: MTMC discusses preparations of Shaiv Mahotsava

Ujjain: Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) is organising Shaiv Mahotsav, a congregation of 12 Jyotirlingas of the country from January 5 to 7. Preparations for the festival are in full swing. MTMC has constituted 17 sub-organising committees and assigned them responsibilities with the aim of making the programme a success.

Members and administrators of MTMC held a meeting with officials of all sub-committees on Tuesday in Mahakal Pravachan hall and said that everyone has an important role in making the festival a success by fulfilling responsibilities handed over to them. MTMC member Vibhash Upadhyay told officials of sub-committees that those who have been entrusted with responsibilities should do it well so that the ideology with which it is being organised is spread across the nation. The programme will be inaugurated after registration on January 5. After Mahaprasadi meal, a grand Shobha.

Yatra will be taken out from Mahakaleshwar temple at 4 pm.

MTMC member priest Pradeep Guru said that Shobha Yatra will begin from Mahakaleshwar Temple. It will traverse through Topkhana, Daulatganj, Naisadak, Kanthal Chauraha, Satigate, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Patni Bazar, Bakhshi Market Chauraha, Chabis Khambha Mata Mandir and Kot Mohalla Chauraha before returning to Mahakaleshwar Temple. The main attraction will be glimpses of 12 Jyotirlingas which will be displayed in the Shobhayatra. The famous bands of Indore and Ujjain will accompany Bhajan Mandali in the yatra. Shobhayatra will also show a glimpse of the folk culture with replicas of 12 Jyothirlingas.

17 marathon sub-committees formed

In the meeting MTMC iun-charge administrator Awadhesh Sharma told the outline of the programme and said that for the purpose of making the programme successful, 17 sub-committees have been constituted for different responsibilities and they have been given separate assignments. Seventeen subcommittees are as follows – felicitation sub-committee, tent-light-mike sub-committee, stage programme sub-committee, traffic sub-committee, food-snacks arrangement sub-committee, housing sub-committee, security sub-committee, cultural sub-committee, shobha yatra sub-committee, finance management sub-committee, information technology sub-committee, sanitation drinking water sub-committee, health sub-committee, Jansahayog sub-committee, publicity sub-committee, publication sub-committee, Publicity sub-committee committee convener will be journalist Nirukt Bhargava, Vishal Singh Hada, Sandeep Mehta and Mahesh Pujari. There will be 4 co-convener and 71 members of the committee.
