Ujjain: On the occasion of National Voters Day, Mehidpur rural area was declared open defecation free (ODF). On this occasion 6,500 voters took the oath of impartial voting. Collector Sanket Bhondve administered the oath in this regard.
The voters have also entered the Golden Book World Record while taking the oath and making human chain in the shape of the seal of Election Commission. On this occasion panchyat president Mangan Bai, additional collector Rani Bansal, Speaker Kayyum Nagori, CEO janpad panchayat Ashok Uike and project officer of Cleanliness Campaign Kavita Upadhyay were present. MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan addressed the people on this occasion and made some announcements in public interest.
The collector also addressed the people of Mehidpur and praised and congratulated them for making the village area of Mehidpur ODF. The welcome speech was delivered by SDM Jagdish Gome and Ashok Uike expressed gratitude.
