Ujjain : The body of a man was found floating in a river near Sanwrakhedi bridge, Hariphatak on Saturday morning. According to Neelganga police, the deceased was identified as Salim Khan (40), a resident of Pingleshwar.
It was revealed that Salim left home on Thursday evening, but did not return all night which prompted his father, Chand Khan and brother Shakeel to look for him, in vain. Shakeel later found that Salim had been gambling with Rashid Pahalwan and 3 others near the Sanwrakhedi Bridge and drowned while trying to escape from the police.
Salim’s brother, however pointed a finger at Salim’s gambling partners and accused them of murdering his brother. Neelganga police is investigating the case.
