Ujjain: A three-day Krishi Mela began on Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi premises on Monday to create conducive environment for farming and promote modern agriculture techniques amongst farmers.
Agriculture scientists will explain modern techniques to farmers through different workshops and seminars. The inauguration was attended by energy minister Paras Jain, president of Zila Panchayat Mahesh Parmar, Mahidpur MLA Bahadur Singh Chouhan, Mandi Committee president Bahadur Singh Bormundla and other officials. Paras Jain said, “Madhya Pradesh government is earnestly and continuously making efforts to make the state top producer in agriculture sector”. Farmers are getting more loans and land under irrigation is increasing. He urged that farmers should not confine themselves to traditional crops but open up to more commercial crops which provide more return on investment.
