Commissioner Ajeet Kumar convened an interstate officials’ meeting to maintain law and order in districts of Ujjain division during the general election. With the cooperation of police and administrative officials of Kota and Udaipur division of Rajasthan, security at border districts of Ujjain division will be enhanced, he said.
IG Rakesh Gupta, divisional commissioner Udaipur Bhawanisingh Detha, divisional commissioners, collectors, and IGs of Kota and Udaipur division were present at the meeting. IG Gupta informed Ujjain, Agar and Ratlam districts are the districts bordering with Jhalawar, Banswara, Pratap Nagar and Kota of Rajasthan.
There are 295 polling booths in Ujjain division adjesent to the border of Rajasthan, he added. During the elections, check on criminals, smuggling of illegal liquor and arms is necessary with mutual coordination between the officials of the both the states, the IG said.
Kota IG Vipinkumar Pandey underlined prompt communication between the police officials of both the states and fine tuning between the interstate toll plazas and check posts to check crimes and illegal activities. The meeting was also attended by DIG Anil Sharma, Ratlam DIG Gourav Rajput, Banswara collector Ashish Gupta, Chittorgarh collector Shivangi Swarnkar, Pratapgarh collector Shyamsingh Rajpurohit, Kota collector MN Agrawal and other concerned collectors and police superintendents.
