Ujjain: Gang running country-made pistols biz busted, 16 held

Police rounded up 16 people involved in trading local made pistols in the city on Saturday.

15 pistols were recovered by the police from members of the racket, who were selling the weapons in the city.

In a joint action by the Neelganga police crime branch and cyber cell, 16 members of the racket were nabbed, SP Sachin Atulkar said.

Apart from weapons the police also recovered live bullets from them.  According to the SP Atulkar, Rajendra (33), Kishore (25) Radheshyam (32), Dinesh, Javed (24) Jawahar(25) Junaid  (27) Shakir (32) Inder(58) Kamal(33) Shakir (35), Saleem(26) Mahesh (30) Harinarayan(35)  and two more belonging to Tarana and Shajapur were arrested.

The police stated that some of them already had a history of illegal activities and many cases have been filed against them in police stations. According to the police Saleem, Javed, Junaid and Kishore are habitual criminals.
