Ujjain: Farmers spill garlic, gram crops on road, submit memorandum to collector

Ujjain: Farmers expressed their outrage and spilled crops of gram and garlic on road due to low government support price for purchase of the crops, on Thursday at Kothi palace area. The farmers also raised slogans against state government.

Chimanganj Krishi Upaj Mandi vice president Sheru Patel informed that a declaration was made by the government to purchase crops of gram, masoor and mustard but no SMS was received by farmers in this regard from the administration.

A memorandum was also handed over to the collector mentioning problems of the farmers, Patel said. Patel alleged that due to wrong policies of the state government farmers were in trouble to sell their crops. While submitting the memorandum Jaisingh Darbar,

Hemantsingh Chouhan, zila panchayat head Mahesh Parmar, Ajeetsingh Thakur, Kamalsingh Hirawat, Maya Trivedi, Karan Kumariya, Noorie Khan, Ravi Rai, Sita Soni, Anju Jatwa, Riturajsingh, Jagdish Kalawat, Tejkaran Solanki, Babusingh Tanwar, Mansingh Choudhary, Narendra Kachhaway, Mahesh Patel, Gabbar Thakur, Rakesh, Ashok Bhati, Umesh Sengar, Aqib Qureshi, Ashok and Gowardhan Patel were present with their supporters.
