Ujjain: Police department will remain on its toes on the Eid festival in the city to ensure peaceful celebrations of the festival. ADGP V Madhukumar chaired a meeting with senior police officials and briefed them about the security measures to be maintained during the festival.
Police administration seems all prepared to ensure peaceful celebrations of Eid in the city on July 6 and 7, 2016. Strict vigilance will be kept over all the movements in the sensitive areas through CCTV cameras. Police force will be deployed in the sensitive areas and night patrolling along with searching of temples, mosques and religious spots will also be conducted to maintain security. Nodal officials have been appointed for the sensitive areas.
It was informed during the meeting that QRF, CRPF, SAF, district force and home guards will be deputed on the city squares. Meetings will be conducted with senior citizens, religious heads and conveners to execute the planning. DIG Rakesh Gupta, SP MS Verma and others officials were present.
Meanwhile, police department has also geared up for the hosting of Jagannath Yatra in the city on Wednesday. Barricades at strategic locations will be put to manage the crowd on the occasion.
