Ujjain: Continuing its protest against hike in power tariff workers of Congress party protested outside the main office of power distribution company located on Maksi Road.

In the protest, led by member of All India Congress Committee, Noori Khan, party workers staged a dharna at the company’s office and also submitted a memorandum to additional superintendent engineer SN Verma demanding a roll back of the decision.

Youth Congress general secretary Tausif Shaikh informed that they had submitted memorandum regarding the hike few days ago, but it was in vain. He added that instead of increasing power tariff, company should make efforts to stop power theft. Umesh Singh Sengar, Mujib Supariwala, Sharafat Shaikh, Nasir Khan, Virendra Gausar, Sahil Dehalvi and other members of the party were present during the protest.
