Ujjain: A meeting of the Congress workers was held at the District Congress Committee office at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Kshir Sagar on Tuesday noon, to take on record various preparations of the ‘Janakrosh Rally’ slated for May 11. In the meeting held in presence of former Member of Parliament Premchand Guddu and presided over by the city Congress Committee president, Anantanarayana Meena, congressmen took a pledge to make the rally successful and uproot the corrupt BJP government.
Senior party leaders also expressed their views with regard to the arrival of the Madhya Pradesh Election Campaign Committee chairman Jyotiraditya Scindia. Workers of the entire district including Ghattia, Barnagar, Tarana, Mehidpur, Khachrod, Unhel, Ingoria and Makdon took the pledge to make it successful by joining the rally in large numbers and maximum vehicles.
Those expressed views in tn the meeting included Jay Singh Darbar, Rajendra Bharti, Bharat Porwal, Hafiz Qureshi, Azad Yadav, Mahesh Soni, Sanjay Thakur, Arun Rohtwani, Rajendra Vashishta, Ajit Singh Thakur, Hemant Singh Chauhan, OP Lott, Azam Shaikh, Karan Kumariya, Vasudev Rawal, Nuri Khan, Anju Jatwa, Ashok Bhati, Umesh Singh Sengar, Ravi Rai, Rameshwar Aanjana and Jagdish Lalawat. The meeting was conducted by Rajesh Rana and the gratitude was expressed by Deepak Mahere.
Prior to the meeting, Ghattia’s BJYM leader Hemraj Singh Hirawat joined the Congress along with his supporters. Former MP Premchand Guddu will visit Ujjain district in view of rally. He will tour Tarana, Mehidpur and Unhel on May 9 at 9 am, 3 pm and 6 pm respectively.
On May 10, he will visit Barnagar at 11 am, Kachrod at 2 pm and Nagda at 4 pm. Blocks-incharge have been appointed for the Janakrosh Rally. Deepak Mehre will be incharge of Jiwajiganj block, Yogesh Sharma at Maharajwada block, OP Lott in Daulatganj block and Bharat Porwal in Madhav Nagar block.
Further, a meeting of Congress workers and office-bearers was held in Ingoria on Barnagar Road to make the rally and gathering organized on the arrival of Jyotiraditya Scindia on May 11 in which hundreds of party workers were present. District Panchayat member Ishwar Singh Chauhan said in the presence of Scindia, the Congress would corner the BJP government and the campaign for Assembly elections will begin from Ujjain. The meeting was organized on this issue alone, he added.
Youth Congress launches campaign chariot
Youth Congress on Tuesday started a campaign to make Jyoriditya Scindia’s programme successful and a chariot was pressed into action from the Youth Congress Lok Sabha constituency’s office in Ghi Mandi. Youth Congress vice-president Chandrabhan Singh Chandel said Scindia would address farmers and public rallies at 11 am at Samajik Nyay Parisar, Agar Road on May 11. The chariot was sent-off to make the event successful.
