Ujjain: To counter BJP’s ‘jan ashirwad yatra’, undertaken by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ahead of Assembly electrions-2018, the Congress party kicked-off its jan jagaran yatra from Tarana tehsil of the district on Wednesday, under the leadership of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Kamal Nath.
MLA and PCC acting president Jitu Patwari is conducting the yatra to highlight the failures and misrule of the BJP government. The yatra will pass through the routes as the Chief Minister’s yatra. Addressing the audience during the yatra at Krishi Upaj Mandi premises, Kamal Nath sounded the battle cry and said the Congress would bring out the true colours of the BJP before the people of the state. He also underscored Chief Minister’s jan ashirwad yatra as a ‘send-off march,’ as the people of the state had already understood the intentions of BJP, he added.
He accused Chouhan of spending public fund on his ‘yatra’ lavishly, and criticised the BJP of misusing the Government machinery. “The State is going through a critical phase, the residents of the State are bearing the brunt of suicide, rape, unemployment, malnutrition and corruption. During Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s regime farmers have been insulted as the government dragged them to court over the issue of electricity bill dues,” Kamal Nath alleged.
Kamal Nath, on the part of Congress, promised the farmers to waive off their debts within ten days of forming the government in the Sate. The All India Congress Committee general secretary and sate in charge Deepak Bawariya accused the state government of duping the people of State with fake promises and appealed to them not to shower blessings on Shivraj Singh Chouhan. State in charge secretary Sanjay Kapur and acting sate president Jitu Patwari said in his address that Kamal Nath would bring real development in the state.
During the inauguration of the yatra, former MPs Sajjan Singh Verma, Premchand Guddu, former MLAs Hukam Singh Karada and Rajendra Bharti, zila panchayat president Mahesh Parmar, Mahesh Soni, Chetan Yadav and many Congress leaders were present.
