Ujjain: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s effigy burnt by Congressmen

Ujjain: In protest against the lathi charge on NSUI and Pradesh Congress Committee leaders in Bhopal on Monday, the local party leaders burnt the effigy of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday.

A march was lead by the local members of Congress towards Kanthal Chowraha from party office at Kshirsagar; but they were deterred by the police, which put the situation in confusion. Some members took the effigy to Central Kotwali. They were stopped by the police there also. In the chaos the effigy got destroyed. Congress leaders burnt the smashed effigy. Congress Committee president Anant Narayan Meena, Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Chetan Yadav, zilla panchayat president Mahesh Parmar, Azad Yadav, Ajit Singh Thakur with other members took part in the protest.

National Students’ Union of India also registered their discontent on the lathi charge. They also burnt an effigy of the CM at Tower Chowk. President Ambar Mathur, Pritesh Sharma and Sangram Bhatiya led the protest. They condemned the transfer of Katni SP Gaurav Tiwari and demanded the resignation of state minister Sanjay Pathak over the Hawala scam. Himanshu Shukla, Kamlesh Dangi, Saddam Khan and others were present during the protest.
