Infuriated Rajput Karni Sena activists staged a demonstration in front of Ujjain South BJP MLA Mohan Yadav’s office here on Thursday in protest against his controversial statement. Yadav’s portraits were also beaten by shoes in Bhopal earlier in the day. MLA Mohan Yadav had reportedly said that the sawaran samaj (forward society) was being funded from foreign countries for their movement against enforcement of new SC-ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, 2018.

He had also reportedly commented that the SIMI and Islamic fundamentalists had been conspiring to divide Hindu society as they were being funded from the Silicon City and thus the Hindu society would have to think about these things. His statements sparked a row across MP particularly in Bhopal and Ujjain as not only the opposition Congress leaders, but the samanya anya pichda evam alpsankhyak samaj (SAPAKS) also took him to task.

BJP distanced itself from the statement and described it as Yadav’s personal view. BJP’s state president Rakesh Singh reportedly rebuked him. Meanwhile, the SAPAKS and Rajput Karni Sena expressed deep resentment on Yadav’s statement. SAPAKS his effigy will be burnt at Shahid Park in evening. Meanwhile, Rajput Karni Sena activists reached Yadav’s office located near BJP’s divisional headquarters here and raised slogans. They were quite peeved over his statement. Heavy police force was also deployed at both the places.

Looking at the mood of Sena activists, Yadav came out of his office and tried to pacify them. He clarified that some section of media misquoted him. When Sena activists asked him whether he would take legal action in view of wrong presentation of his statement, Yadav said he would do it soon. Sena activists left from there saying they would re-launch agitation if he would not do so.
