Ujjain: City’s first multi storey parking will be constructed at Gullu ki chawl in Chhatri Chowk. Power minister Paras Jain, mayor Meena Jonwal, UDA chairman Jagdish Agrawal, Hemant Vyas, local corporator Jyoti Rao and others attending the foundation laying ceremony on Sunday.
Interacting with media, Jain said the site was located in one of the most congested parts of the city and parking facility would offer respite from heavy traffic and solve problem of wrong parking. The mayor said that the facility would allow parking of around 400 two-wheelers and 120 four-wheelers. The facility would come up on 1400 square feet area with a cost of Rs 5.65 crore.
It would be equipped with modern amenities like elevator, automatic bar coding, ticket counting, separate gates for entry and exit, CCTV cameras for security and drivers. The facility would be ready for use within six months. While ground floor will be reserved for two wheelers, space for 40 four- wheelers would be available on each of the three subsequent floors.
