Ujjain: To register their protest against the proposed Advocate Amendment Bill, the Bar Council of India (BCI) has called for a boycott of judicial work on March 31. To discuss the report of Law Commission of India suggesting amendments in the 1965 bill, a meeting was called by the Bar Council on March 26. According to Bar Association of India member Pratap Mehta, a meeting of representatives of state bar associations will be held on April 8 at the New Delhi office of the Bar Council. It is also directed that representatives of bar associations will meet with their respective member of parliaments and request them to refrain from supporting the bill. A memorandum will also be submitted to the Prime Minister, President and Minister of Law and Justice of India.
