Ujjain: Artisans mould silver idol of Lord Parshvanath as part of ‘navpad oli’ fest

Ujjain: Artisans from Palitana, Gujarat moulded a silver idol of Lord Parshvanath in front of Acharya Harsh Sagar Maharaj and hundreds of devotees at Kharakuan Jain temple on Wednesday. This is part of the nine day ‘navpad oli’ festival at the temple, which is being held under the under the guidance of acharya Daulatsagar, acharya Nandivardhan and acharya Harshsagarsuri.

Temple secretary Jayantilal Telwala informed that the procedure took many hours, during which artisans Kannubhai and his assistants heated up the 10 kilogram silver for 2 hours and poured the molten silver into a mould. They finished the process by cooling the idol in water. Devotees kept chanting the name of Lord Parshvanath throughout the process.
