Ujjain: Around 7,000 aspirants appear in MPPSC prelims

Ujjain: Preliminary exam of state service 2018 of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) was held on Sunday. Around 7000 aspirants appeared in the exam held at 17 centres in the city.

The examination was held in two shifts. In the first shift, aspirants wrote general studies paper. The timing was 10am to 12pm. General aptitude of the aspirants was tested in the second shift between 2.15 pm and 4.15 pm. Examination centres included MIT College, Lokmanya Tilak School, School of Excellence, Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Government Madhav Science college, Madhav Arts college, Girls Degree College and other academic institutions. Government Engineering College was the nodal centre.

Following Supreme Court’s direction, aspirants went through strict checking. They were asked to remove shoes, socks, belts, watches, caps, sweatshirts or any other accessory. Girls were asked to remove hair clips, clutchers, bangles, earrings and rings.

The holy thread worn in hand was also cut. In fact, aspirants were not even allowed to take key of their vehicles. Despite chill in the morning air, aspirants were asked to remove sweatshirts and sweaters.

The aspirants started arriving at their respective centres around 8 am. Entry into the centre was strictly through photo identity proof. Examination in-charge Veena Ghoshkar and SDM Kshitij Sharma inspected various centres along with other officials. Police force was also deployed at every centre for security reasons.
