Ujjain: An all-religion prayer meet was organised at Bhartiya Gyanpeeth to commemorate the death anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, also known as Shahid Diwas. Many prominent personalities of the city attended the event.
Sanskrit scholar Mohan Gupt, who headed the event, recalled the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and reiterated his philosophy of harmony in society. Astrologist Anand Shankar Vyas urged the youngsters to inculcate the principles of Gandhiji in their life. Former judicial officer Shashimohan Shrivastava asserted that every student must read the autobiography of Gandhi. Author Pilkendra Arora also addressed the audience.
Diwakar Natu, RS Patel, Charan Singh Gill and Brahmkumari Manju didi also graced the occasion and expressed their views on the importance of Gandhiji’s teachings in today’s world.
A compilation of lectures, conducted on the topic of harmony ‘Sadbhavna Smarika’ was also launched at the event. Sandeep Kulshreshth, Yudhishthir Kulshreshth, Girish Pandya and Neelam Mahadin edited the magazine. Group chairman Krishnamangal Singh Kulshreshth delivered the welcome speech. Amrita Kulshreshth conducted the programme.
Tanuja Kadre proposed the vote of thanks. Achala Johari and Neha Prajapati were awarded prizes for their inputs for the magazine.
