Ujjain: Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) handed over a memorandum under the leadership local unit secretary, Abhishek Rathore to the vice-chancellor of Vikram University, Prof Sheel Sindhu Pandey on Thursday. The memorandum sought to resolve several problems faced by students.
Time and again, the ABVP has been reminding the university administration to look into the welfare of students, a spokesperson said. The ABVP highlighted in its memorandum that ‘A’ grade facilities were not being provided by the university to its students and results of various examinations were not being declared on time. They also said Ph d researchers had not received RDC for many subjects on time.
According to the organization, the university never provided adequate facilities to sporting talent. In the memorandum, the ABVP opposed eligibility fee for students as also banning of student agitations. This. the ABVP felt was a suppression of the fundamental rights of students.
The ABVP also demanded contract faculties in places of guest faculties in the SOET department of the university. The director of SOET, they pointed out should be a technical person and demanded that the present director who is non-technical, be replaced. It also said it was absolutely necessary to renovate hostels. The vice-chancellor was accused of indulging in indecent behavior, nepotism with regard to purchasing equipments, threatening students, patronizing tainted professors, and leading a lavish lifestyle thanks to university funds.
