Deputy district electoral officer RP Verma informed that nomination filling was closed on Friday and on the last day 85 candidates filled their nomination papers for election 2018. With this total 126 candidate’s have filled nomination from Ujjain district, he said.
Ujjain district comprises Nagad-Kachrod, Mahidpur, Tarana, Ghatiya, Ujjain north, Ujjain South and Badnagar constituencies from which along with official declared candidates of registered political parties several independent candidates also filled nomination papers to contest assembly election.
From Ujjain north, Pankaj Jain son of late Anandilal Jain, Dinesh Jain son of Mangilal, Jiyalal Sharma don of Kishanlal and Maya Trivedi filed nomination papers as independent candidate. Rajendra Bharti filled nomination papers from Congress party.
Similarly from Ujjain south constituency seat Jaisingh Darbar, Ishan Vishwakarma, Rahul Darbar, Ajay Sonartiya and Hitesh Akodiya filled nominations independently. Rajendra Vashistha filled from Congress, Radheshyam Mishra from Sapaks and Avinash son of Manoharlal filled candidature from Swatantra party.
5 miscreants expelled from district
Collector Manish Singh released orders of expulsion of 5 miscreants from district for period of 1 year under section 5 of Madhya Pradesh State Safety Act – 1990. Pannalal son of Chaturbhuj Suryavanshi resident of Kotwali station area, Amajad son of Maula Hela from Kharakua station area, Vijay Suryavanshi and Monu Suryavanshi from Kotwali station and Nepal Singh from Nagda station area were expelled for period of 1 year. These miscreants will be barred from entering in revenue boarders of district for the next 1 year period.
2020 special Police officers deployed in districts
Collector and district electoral officer Manish Singh has appointed 2020 special police officers for smooth organisation of assembly election. Kotwar officers, Vanpal, Vanrakshak, municipal employees have been appointed as special officers.
