New Delhi : In two other firsts in the upcoming polls for five Assemblies, the Election Commission on Monday put the electoral rolls and details of the polling booths and electoral staffs online and extended the facility of downloading the e-voter slips.

The first has been provided on its National Voters’ Services Portal as also on a mobile APP to extend the facility to search the voter’s name in the electoral roll, know the address of the polling station to check its location on the Google Map and have the contact details of the polling staff.

The second is also available on both the web portal and Mobile APP to enable a voter take a printout of his electoral entry, of course without photograph, which he can take with the voter’s card or any other alternate identification document as approved by the Election commission. Besides, the Election Commission is launching the first-ever information Gateway on web portal, Mobile APP and through SMS to keep the voters updated on key information like the schedule of election in his constituency, details of nominations and final list of the contesting candidates, as also results on the counting date.
