MIRA ROAD: More than a year after evading arrest, a 31-year-old real estate agent finally landed into the custody of the Naya Nagar police in Mira Road on charges of cheating a Mumbai-based woman to the tune of Rs 7.5 lakh under the pretext of offering her a cheap flat in Nallasopara.
According to the police the accused who has been identified as Kamlesh Singh alias Sonu (31) along with his two accomplices lured the complainant into paying Rs 7.5 lakh for the apartment. However, the trio who have their office in Mira Road refused to hand over the possession of the flat and refused to return her money following which a FIR was registered at the Naya Nagar police station. Since then the trio were absconding.
However, both his accomplices are still at large. The accused who has been arrested on charges of breach of trust, forgery and cheating, was remanded in police custody. Further investigations are on.
