Indore : Teen Imli square is a major square on eastern ring road which connects the city to the bypass and also with the busy Nemawar road. District administration shifted Navlakha bus stand to this square recently by making temporary arrangements. Square is next to the IT Park square and thousands of commuters and passengers pass through it.
Even after being so important, the square remains waterlogged during monsoon and people face problems while passing on this route.
SDMs, IMC officials and others also travel on this road but they turn a blind eye to this problem. Moreover, they are not interested in hearing complaints of passengers at the bus stand who face trouble due to waterlogging.
“IMC has vacated Navlakha bus stand but they shifted it to a pothole at Teen Imli. Passengers and bus operators have to face trouble due to waterlogging. Many people get injured by falling in potholes or by ramming their vehicles into others while avoiding the holes.” resident Aadil Khan said.
Earlier, waterlogging was not a usual affair there but after construction of the bridge, situation turned worse.
“Officials neglected the need of drainage and storm water line and didn’t make any arrangement to remove the water. There is no drainage system at the square. Officials must take action on these problems,” Khan said.
Commuter Mukesh Khanna said that he faces trouble while passing through the area during rains as it causes traffic jam and one cannot pass without getting drenched.
“If IMC officials cannot make much of a difference than they must lay down a pipeline to release logged water in the nearest nullah at least. We have lodged various complaints but no action has been taken yet,” bus operator Bhim Rathore said.
Residents and bus operators also expressed anger at district administration officials who never returned to the area after shifting the bus stand.
“They left us on our own in waterlogged conditions, now they will have to pay in the next elections as we don’t want such representatives who forget us in hard times,” residents cautioned.
