India’s longest running comedy daily soap Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has recently landed into controversy for featuring a living character of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Reportedly, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) demanded the ban on the show for hurting Sikh community’s sentiment. However, after this chaos, the producer of the show, Asit Kumar Modi has finally clarified about the misunderstanding.
Apparently, the producer took to Twitter and wrote, “Roshan singh Sodhi became Guru Gobind singh Ji Ka Khalsa not Guru Gobind singh. Please check his dialogues and the episodes.”

Well, earlier the chief of SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar had said, “The serial had hurt the community by depicting a living character of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, which was ‘against the Sikh tenets’. No actor or any character can equate himself with the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. Such an act is unpardonable.” But after the clarification by the producer, let’s see how the group would react to it.
