Indore : Senior advocate Surendra Verma was once again elected as president of the Indore District Bar Association on Friday defeating his nearest rival Dinesh Pandey by 84 votes. Verma was elected as president for the 11th time.
The elections were held on Friday and results were announced late in the night.
The contest between Verma and Pandey was tough. Though Verma managed to win elections again, his victory margin was less compared to previous elections. Besides, Dinesh Hardia and Jay Hardia were elected as vice president and secretary respectively. Jay Harida defeated Kapil Birthare by 150 votes. Tough contest was witnessed between Santosh Thakur and Amit Pathak for the joint-secretary post and Thakur won the election by two votes. Gourav Aradhya was elected as treasurer.
