Stand with Kerala! Shah Rukh Khan donates Rs 21 lakh, Jacqueline Fernandez Rs 5 lakh as Bollywood extends supporting hand

Kerala, ‘God’s Own Country’, is suffering from the heavy floods because of rains. More than 300 people have lost their lives and lakhs of residents have been displaced. Meanwhile, extending their hand towards the Keralites, Bollywood stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and many others doing their bit to help the people by contributing to CMs relief fund and also urging people to do the same.

“The devastation caused by incessant rain in Kerala is frightening. Hundreds and thousands of our sisters and brothers are in deep anguish! We must do all we can to contribute as much as we can towards the needs of the people of Kerala. I have. You must too,” Amitabh tweeted.

Besides the mega star, Shah Rukh’s Meer Foundation has donated Rs 21 lakh to the relief group working amongst floods victims. Jacqueline Fernandez too stepped forward and donated Rs 5 lakh to NGO Habitat for Humanity India’s Kerala Flood Relief programme.

Hrithik wrote, “The situation in Kerala is critical. Help is required. Please let’s come forward and do whatever we can. Our friends in Kerala need us right now. I have contributed a sum and I request you all to do whatever you can. God bless #KeralaFloodRelief.” Hrithik has also one step ahead. A source quoted to DNA, “When Hrithik got to know about the disaster, he quietly sent across a few people from his team to get an understanding of all the help the victims and the state required. Though he was shooting for the last schedule of his film Super 30 in Mumbai, he kept in touch with them over the phone to take updates and act accordingly. He will continue to do so till the state recuperates.”

Akshay Kumar has contributed to CMs relief fund. His wife and author Twinkle Khanna tweeted, “We have done our bit and I would urge all of you to open your hearts and help the people of Kerala as much as possible.” To note, Filmmaker Priyadarshan has already handed over his and actor Akshay Kumar’s cheque to Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. “Let’s together build back Kerala back to its glory again. No politics, no religion only humanity. Let’s stand together to save Kerala,” he tweeted.
