Sourav Ganguly, former Indian captain is celebrating his 45th birthday today. Ganguly, who changed Indian cricket with his aggressive captaincy will always be remembered as ‘Dada’ of Indian cricket. The dashing left-hander made his debut in 1996 at Mecca of cricket, Lord’s and scored a century.

The former Indian captain brought class to the captaincy and took the leadership in the aftermath of match fixing scandal. Under Ganguly’s leadership, India won the famous series against Australia 2-1, after losing the first Test at Mumbai and India also started to compete overseas. Ganguly empowered players and gave them belief to play fearless brand of cricket. The ex-skipper scored 22 ODI hundreds and 16 Test tons and scored over 15,000 runs in international cricket. Dada always stayed true to himself and became one of India’s finest captains.
