Sonakshi Sinha on ‘Noor’, weight issues and ‘female-oriented characters’

Mumbai: Bollwood actress Sonakshi Sinha was seen promoting her upcoming movie ‘Noor’ in Mumbai. According to latest reports, ‘Noor’ aka Sonakshi Sinha is going to different cities to promote ‘Noor’.

Recently, she was in Mumbai for the same. Speaking about the film, and the character in the movie, she said, “I’m a journalist in the films and I don’t like to cover entertainment beat, but then also my editor sends me to cover that.”

She also added, “I loved to sing the song Gulabi in the movie. Actually, my dream of singing came true. And, I loved dancing on it too. In the song ‘Move your lakk’, we didn’t get a time for rehearsal on the sets, but we gave out best because we love to dance. And, I have that capability to pick dance steps very quickly.”

On her weight issue, she added, “Every girl is not happy with her weight and fitness. Everybody wants to look good.”

The ‘Dabangg’ girl, who has featured in films like ‘Akira’ and ‘Lingaa’ is strongly against the term ‘female-oriented characters’. In a recent interview the actress had said, “Firstly, one need to stop categorising characters as ‘female-oriented’ projects. We are all actors. Thus, any film with a male or female lead depends on the content of the tale. It’s high time we do not specifically differentiate between male and female roles,” the actress said.

“This is indeed a great time for all of us as actors. Being able to perform varied roles is what we desire. I always wanted to perform action-oriented roles and I derived immense pleasure from doing them,” she added.

‘Noor’ helmed by Sunhil Sippy and will hit theatre on April 21.
