Ujjain : The special judge (anti-corruption) RL Yadav on Thursday awarded two years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) to a police sub-inspector (SI) and also imposed a fine of Rs 3000 in connection with a bribery case. Lok Ayukta SP Dilip Soni informed that Mahakal police station SI Prakash Chandra Pal had demanded a bribery of Rs 5000 from the complainant Mohammed Shahid in exchange of favouring him in a police case. The sleuths of Lok Ayukta police had on January 2, 2014 caught the SI red-handed while receiving the bribe of Rs 1000. Role of special public prosecutor Manoj Kumar Pathak and head constable HK Malviya remained crucial during the trial of the case and the SI was finally convicted by the court on Thursday.
