Mumbai: The special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in the Sheena Bora murder case, on Monday, granted Indrani Mukerjea the permission to personally argue her bail plea, which she filed under medical grounds. After the court had rejected the bail application of Mukerjea on September 7, earlier this month she had once again filed for bail, citing ‘neurological complications’ but this time she requested Judge J C Jagdale to allow her to argue in person. Two witnesses of the central agency had to depose before the court but due to certain difficulties, they did not appear. The court issued bailable warrants against them, after which Mukerjea, who was wearing ‘sindoor’ after filing for divorce last month, stood in the witness box and inquired of Judge J C Jagdale when she could argue. After a discussion with other defence advocates, the court scheduled it for Oct 16. – Staff Reporter
